Ping out test

The word ping is also used to describe the time it takes to transmit a small packet of data from user to server and from the server back to the user.

Most often used to determine the availability of the site, the server on the Internet. The ping time can be used to determine how fast the connection to this server will respond.

DNS Leak Test

Due to security vulnerabilities, sometimes a DNS query can reach your ISP instead of VPN service servers, which can hide it from prying eyes. In fact, this is where the DNS leak occurs. The culprit is an unencrypted DNS query sent by your computer, not through a secure VPN tunnel.

Torrenting

Users need VPNs for torrenting to provide their anonymity.

BitTorrent with Avast

We considered here the following options:

  • file size 3.5 GB;
  • number of seeders 0.5;
  • download speed 187.7 kB/s
  • complete time 8 h 39 min.

The complete of 8 h 39 min is too much. Especially compared with the industry average time of app.22 min for the file of the same size. This time exceeds the average industry complete time in 24 times!

To provide the same test conditions, we tried to complete the file of the same size.

  • download speed 391.1 kB/s;
  • complete time 2 h 56 min.
